    Dawn graduated from�Clarion University of Pennsylvania�with her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1999. She went on and earned her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology at�Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania�in 2002. Dawn became a National Certified Counselor in 2002 and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the�state of Pennsylvania�in 2005. Dawn has used her knowledge and skills in Counseling to work in the State Correctional System, a Drug and Alcohol facility, as well as a few mental health agencies in the�Pittsburgh�area before coming to IPS. Dawn is also responsible for helping in the development of a residential facility in Pittsburgh for Borderline Personality Females in 2002.�


    �Dawn specializes in treating adults with Mental Health needs. She takes an integrative approach to Counseling where she selects certain techniques from different therapeutic models and uses them together. The techniques chosen are based on what Dawn feels is best for the client and his or her particular needs. The models Dawn uses consist of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Transpersonal Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy. �Dawn has also been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy which is a specific form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that she often uses.�Dawn helps clients cope with current life circumstances and also helps them to address long standing and deep rooted personal problems.�Dawn believes in treating a person as a whole, Mind, Body, and Spirit. She whole heartedly believes that a person can transform personal problems into their own personal growth.�Dawn has worked with a myriad of different mental health conditions in the adult population including but not limited to Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Eating Disorders, Schizophrenia, Drug and Alcohol Addictions, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

    �One of Dawn's biggest passion's is working with clients who have Chronic Pain Conditions and their families. Chronic Pain is often accompanied by Depression and Anxiety creating a vicious cycle of increased pain causing increased Depression and Anxiety which in turn creates even more pain. Not only has Dawn intensively studied the effects of Chronic Pain and the multi-disciplinary approach needed to treat and cope with Chronic Pain conditions, she experiences Chronic Pain of her own on a daily basis. Dawn has relied heavily on her faith as well as other treatment modalities to help her transform her condition into personal growth.�
