Description of Practice :
Deloria’s practice is eclectic. It embraces cognitive interventions for OCD and anxiety as well as psychodynamic exploration to understand how buried emotional history is often center-stage of present challenges. It includes analysis where listening to the free-floating thoughts of the mind allows access to deeper reflections of unconscious disturbances, motives, and wishes that often cause conflict. The act of understanding the patient’s stories and challenges is not based solely on logical conclusions. Effective tools and strategies make all the difference. Therapy opens a door to conquer anxiety and panic, cope with depression and learn to manage trauma memories and alcohol misuse. Yet understanding and exploring our emotional history is often the lynchpin. Deloria’s practice is designed to keep clients motivated for self-exploration and help them regain control. Her keen interest is in the therapeutic relationship and in allowing individuals to increase their own self-energy such that they are the orchestra leaders of their lives.
