    For the past ten years, I have been working exclusively in alternative/integrative medicine at the Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio.  I am the head of the energy medicine department there as well as the research coordinator for the center's work with the Bravewell Collaborative.  I am certified in Healing Touch but also have had classes in Therapeutic Touch, Reiki and have studied with well known healers such as Rosalyn Bruyere, Donna Eden, Janet Mentgen, Carolyn Myss, and Belleruth Naparstek.  Additionally, I am certified in Meridian Therapy and Advanced Allergy Therapeutics and hold certificates in Frequency Specific Microcurrent, aromatherapy, and reflexology.  I have been practicing and teaching alternative therapies for over 20 years.

    For over 30 years, I worked at the bedside in many areas of nursing.  I was also an Associate Professor of Nursing at Northern Kentucky University.  I have been a frequent guest lecturer on various healing topics, have authored several articles and book chapters, and have published in national and international journals.

    What made you choose a career in nursing?

    I have always wanted to make a difference in people's lives.  I started volunteering in a local hospital at the age of 13 and naturally gravitated to nursing.  I have enjoyed every day of my career.
