How do you try to make a difference in the lives of your patients?
I believe that the smallest act goes a very long way. As a PA who solely works in the operating room, I do not spend a lot of my time with conscious patients. It is because of that fact that I always make sure to introduce myself to everyone in the preop area. When I am in the OR waiting for the nurse to bring in the patients, they are always glad to see me since I am a familiar face. Since the concept of surgery and the general atmosphere of an operating room can be overwhelming, I know I have made a difference in my patients lives by giving them some comfort. If the roles were reversed, I would appreciate the gesture. As the saying goes, "Do onto others as they would do onto you".

American Academy of Physician Assistants
Attributes Success To:
My success comes from athletics. I grew up playing sports yearround my entire life, from playing teeball at the age of five to playing four years of field hockey in college. Academics were always important to me, but I always had a love for my sports, so finding that balance to succeed in both fields was always a priority for me. I define my success with the elements of time management, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude, and I thank my involvement in sports for stengthening these skills. I would not be the person who I am today had I never been involved in athletics. Even though I have been out of college for some time, I still go about my days in the same manner: prioritizing what needs to be done and what I can do to make a difference. This is my success.
