What made you choose a career in nursing?
She came from Iran to to Canada 22 years ago with a Health Care Educator license. It was not recognized in Canada, so she started to work as a Health Care Aid in nursing homes. She also volunteered in hospitals in the pediatric and medicine units. Due to her background in healthcare and her personality, she decided to study nursing in Canada. After 1 and a half years of studying English, she entered college to become an RN. She also wanted to work in different areas of nursing.

What motivates you at the start of each day?
The best reward and motivation for her to go to work is when she sees a smile physically and emotionally challenged client's faces, or even a blink with a happy face if that is the children's only means of communication. It makes her day and she feels that she makes a difference in someone's life besides giving them her best holistic nursing care and attention. She continuously advocates for their rights.

She attributes her success to her parents who raised her to be caring, productive, successful and happy person she is today. Her background experience in Iran, as well as living and studying in Canada's multicultural society have helped her become successful in her family and as an RN. Being an RN helps her with her own family life and relationships as well in a way to appreciate and enjoy the precious moments of life and health of her family, no matter how busy she is.
