Description of Practice :
As a NRP instructor, I utilize high fidelity mannequins in a variety of situations to develop student critical thinking skills. Lead traditional simulation education and scenario debriefs ensuring student comprehension. Design and implement engaging curriculum to reach a variety of skill sets and learning styles.
As an adjunct Classroom/ Clinical Instructor I provided instructions to students based on the course syllabus and was responsible for connecting classroom material to real-life application as well as accommodating varied learning styles and pace of students during clinicals. Coordinate student rotations and help students understand their duties Ensure clinical lessons tie in with the classroom lessons that have already been completed so that students have the necessary knowledge for their laboratory or clinical lesson. Supervise the students during the clinical rotation and provide guidance as students interact with staff members.
As a Coordinator for NICU and Pediatrics my responsibilities included staffing and operation of the shift. Writing Policies and Procedures, orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, development of Pediatric Protocol, Care for infant with acute illness including respiratory distress syndrome, meconium aspiration, persistent pulmonary hypertension, transient tachypnea of the newborn, pulmonary interstitial emphysema, BPD, cardiovascular failure, support family in coping with illness, skilled with HFO, servo I, Vapotherm, intubation, administered surfactant and attend all high risk delivery.
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist my responsibilities include caring for infant with acute illness including respiratory distress syndrome, meconium aspiration, persistent pulmonary hypertension, transient tachypnea of the newborn, pulmonary interstitial emphysema, BPD, cardiovascular failure, support family in coping with illness, skilled with HFO, babylog ventilator, intubation, administered surfactant, instructing parents on performing CPR on the infants before being discharged from the hospital, and attend all high risk delivery.
