What made you choose a career in nursing?

Well first of all, I grew up in a very close knit family with a mother and father who taught of the importance of helping and caring for family and for people who needed  our help.  My mother always taught us that we should put God first and then to trust and believe that we could do anything that we put our minds to.  My mother was my most inflentual reason for going into nursing.  She has always been a steady and constant rock in my life.  Whenever times get rough, or I need someone to talk to, she is always there for me and listens and understands what I am going through.  Nursing has been truly one of the most rewarding careers that I could have ever been in.  I could not imagine my life without being a nurse.

    Research Interests :

    Cancer research, diabetes research

What motivates you at the start of each day?

My desire to help others and my love for helping others.  I thank God each and every day that I wake up that I am able to go out and just help someone along the way.  I truly know that my living has not been in vain, because God has truly blessed me with the ability that I have to give and to help others.

    Attributes Success To:

My faith, a strong up bringing, a good education and an innate desire to help others.  I also attribute my success to my mother, who stood by me and was always there for me when I needed her and pushing me and telling me that I can do anything that I put my mind to do.
